WHIST RESTAURANT DEBUTS NEW SPRING MENU FOR KCRW DINNER DATE
Executive Chef Tony DiSalvo and KCRW DJ Jeremy Sole Entertain Guests in Sold Out Evening
SANTA MONICA, CA, May 1, 2012 – KCRW (89.9FM and KCRW.com), in partnership with dineLA, last night joined forces with Whist Restaurant as part of the ongoing KCRW Dinner Date series. Seventy-five diners were made privy to the debut of Whist’s new cuisine concept – a globally-influenced menu sourced from local Santa Monica markets and farms. The new spring menu debuts at the restaurant today. The ongoing, pop-up supperclub melts together KCRW listeners, food lovers, radio talent and master chefs in an intimate, one-of-a-kind experience.
Each Dinner Date crafts a unique dining adventure, showcasing a different KCRW Fringe Benefits restaurant at each event. Last night featured special, live DJ sets by KCRW DJ Jeremy Sole, whose rhythmic beats set the ambient tone early in the evening and closed out the sold-out event. A delicious meal inspired by Whist Executive Chef Tony DiSalvo, prepared with help by Chef de Cuisine and Season 11 Top Chef “Fan Favorite” Chris Crary, took diners on a culinary journey of vivid flavor combinations and inventive pairings.
“Just like we have ‘KCRW Presents’ for music, Dinner Date has become ‘KCRW Presents’ for food,” says Fringe Benefits and Drive Director Laura Shumate. “When you attend a ‘KCRW Presents’ music event you can be sure you’ll like what you hear while enjoying the company of likeminded strangers. Dinner Date is the same only now we’re enjoying delicious food!”
KCRW is pleased to join Executive Chef and Owner Joseph Miller at the highly regarded, Abbott Kinney staple Joe’s for the next installment of KCRW Dinner Date on May 22nd. Tickets to the event are $30 and go on sale within a week, with all proceeds supporting KCRW.
KCRW Dinner Date events are publicized through KCRW social media outlets, including the KCRW website, Facebook and Twitter.
