KCRW ANNOUNCES YOUNG CREATORS PROJECT
An Open Call For Los Angeles-Area Musicians, Storytellers, Poets and Artists Under 21
Santa Monica, CA (February 24, 2022) – KCRW is proud to announce the inaugural Young Creators Project, an initiative that offers Los Angeles-area musicians, storytellers, poets and artists (under 21) an opportunity for their talents to be showcased on the KCRW airwaves. Video submissions will be accepted in March for musicians, April for storytelling/poetry, and May for artists.
KCRW music and culture teams as well as industry executives will choose the best of the best to be highlighted on air and across KCRW’s social media and marketing platforms. In addition, KCRW will present AMA (Ask Me Anything) virtual events for all young creators that submit entries. For a select group of entrants, KCRW will host a virtual group critique event with KCRW staff and industry career-makers to help launch the next generation of talent. Finally, the entire initiative will culminate with a live event showcasing the best of the best in all categories at KCRW’s Young Creators Showcase in June.
