Santa Monica, CA (January 24, 2017) – Today (Tuesday, January 24) at 11:00 AM PST, KCRW presents prolific garage rocker Ty Segall, performing a preview of tracks from his upcoming eponymous album, live from KCRW studios, on the station’s flagship music program, Morning Becomes Eclectic. Segall’s new self-titled record – out on January 27 via Drag City – was recorded with him backed by a full band – Emmett Kelly, Mikal Cronin, Charles Moothart and Ben Boye. The collaboration produced a new group sound, as well as some of the most visceral and penetrating vocal passages yet heard from Segall, including the sublime debut single, “Orange Color Queen,” a KCRW fave.
Listen live on-air at KCRW 89.9, or stream via Facebook Live.
This week on MBE continues on Friday, January 27, at 11:00 AM PST, with a live set from Canadian quartet BadBadNotGood and special guests. BadBadNotGood made a name for themselves applying their classical jazz training to hip hop music. With big name fans and collaborators, their star continues to rise.
Morning Becomes Eclectic, hosted by KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley, is the station’s signature daily music program (9:00 AM – Noon) featuring new releases from emerging and established artists, underappreciated gems, live performances and interviews.
