Santa Monica, CA (November 2, 2016) – Los Angeles Lakers’ point guard D’Angelo Russell is one of the most promising players in the current lineup. KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley visited the Lakers’ practice facility to shine a light on some of Russell’s favorite songs for the current installment of KCRW’s Guest DJ Project. His all hip-hop playlist shows many sides of the 20-year-old Kentucky native.

During the taping, Russell reveals his game day anthem, how it feels to be a celebrity in Los Angeles, his penchant for discovering new music, and his thoughts on the upcoming season which just launched on October 26. “I think pre-season was great,” Russell comments. “As a team, we took a lot of steps forward. Everything was new for us; you know, new players, new coaching staff. It was just a whole whirlwind as far as those aspects, but I feel that we are on the right track.”

Russell is off to a great start. In the Lakers’ season opener, he scored 20 points in a 120–114 win over the Houston Rockets.
