Santa Monica, CA (November 29, 2016) – KCRW and One Colorado are pleased to announce a very special evening of music with singer-songwriter KT Tunstall and her full band. KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley will bookend KT’s live set with two DJ sets. The concert is all ages and free to the public with open seating.

Two years ago KT Tunstall pulled the plug on playing music professionally. “I stopped. I gave up. I didn’t want to do it anymore.” Ten years had passed since her multi-platinum debut album, Eye To The Telescope was released, she’d lived a decade in the limelight, released three more critically acclaimed albums, but she was utterly burnt out.

Trading her UK home for Venice Beach, she tucked herself away in a salty-aired sanctuary to quietly immerse herself in the craft of film scoring. Her plan worked at first, but an unyielding urge to pick up the guitar and write riffs echoed in and very quickly took over her plot for solitude.

Fast forward to September 2016 and we have Tunstall’s album, KIN, born-and-bred LA. Fueled by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Tame Impala, and Devendra Banhart, she sees KIN as the long-awaited, full-blooded follow-up to her debut album years ago.

“It’s rambunctious, anti-slick, pro-wild, psychedelic emotional pop. I’ve finally cut myself free from a disempowering, disabling search for approval. I’m being honest, and I’m having a load of fun.”

One Colorado is located at 41 Hugus Alley, Pasadena, CA 91103.  For more information, please visit kcrw.com.
