Upcoming Live Performances on MORNING BECOMES ECLECTIC with host JASON BENTLEY

Monday, July 13, KCRW DJ Raul Campos will stop by the studio at 10am to share musical selections and stories from this year’s Latin Alternative Music Conference.

Wednesday, July 15, Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio is striking out on his own as BAIO, with his solo debut full length due this Fall. For his U.S. radio debut, he gives us a sneak preview, ranging from Buddy Holly-esque pop to dance tracks.

Thursday, July 16, Young Minnesota rockers Hippo Campus emerged as a band to watch from this year’s SXSW Music Conference and their star has continued to rise. The art-school grads released a perfectly poppy EP and they join us in studio in advance of their show at the Santa Monica Pier as part of KCRW’s Summer Nights series.

Monday, July 20, Grammy award-winning songwriter Dwight Yoakam has sold more than 25 million records. He’s kept his sound fresh by embracing a wider range of sounds on recent recordings, including his latest Second Hand Heart, and we are happy to welcome him back into our studio in advance of his performance as part of KCRW’s Sound In Focus series.

Wednesday, July 22, The Very Best is led by a Swedish-Malawian duo who combine African pop with funk and house grooves for highly danceable, exuberant music. They stopped by KCRW at the end of their North American tour for a live set.

Thursday, July 23, Boxed In’s debut album has been a KCRW favorite for months now and we welcome the London-based quartet — led by producer/songwriter Oli Bayston — into our studio for a live session in advance of the band’s performance as part of the Sound in Focus series.
