Frank Gehry and Eli Broad commit to new vision for Grand Avenue

An evening that was intended to mark the ten year anniversary of the Walt Disney Concert Hall — a panel at the now venerated hall co-hosted by KCRW’s Warren Olney and Frances Anderton —  turned into an animated discussion about the future of Grand Avenue, with guests Frank Gehry and Eli Broad returning repeatedly to the theme of the Related Companies’ Grand Avenue project, and Gehry’s role in the design.

Jackie Lacey makes history

History was made Tuesday night when Jackie Lacey became the first African-American and first female chief prosecutor of Los Angeles County. Armed with support from her boss, outgoing District Attorney Steve Cooley, Lacey garnered over 55 percent of the vote.
