He has won 14 Grammys, racked up numerous Country Music Awards and was the youngest artist to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry back in 1982. Over his 50 year career, Ricky Skaggs has stayed true to his bluegrass roots while pushing musical boundaries. He performs tonight at the Granada Theater alongside his wife, Sharon White and another Americana legend, Ry Cooder.

KCRW’s Larry Perel caught up with him before tonight’s show.
