Are you ready for today’s election?

Today, March 3 is an election day – polls are open from 7am-8pm.

First things first, check out SmartVoter.org and find out where your polling place is, and who is on your local ballot.

Then, use this handy League of Women’s Voters guide (pdf) to learn more about the candidates.

Voters will be deciding on:

  • City Charter Amendments 1 & 2, which will determine if the election date should change for L.A. City elections and LAUSD elections.
  • Members of the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles Community College District
  • Some voters will also be electing Los Angeles City Council Candidates and LAUSD board members

Before you go to the polls, listen to Tom Hogen-Esch a political science professor at California State University Northridge and Gene Maddaus a staff writer at LA Weekly talk about the significance of Tuesday’s ballot on Which Way, LA?

And here is more about all the outside money that’s pouring into our local elections.
