Angelina Jolie opens up about having surgery to remove her ovaries

The actress and activist has written before about having a double mastectomy to help prevent the cancer that runs in her family. In a new Op-Ed for the New York Times, she writes about her second surgery. “In my case, the Eastern and Western doctors I met agreed that surgery to remove my tubes and ovaries was the best option, because on top of the BRCA gene, three women in my family have died from cancer,” Jolie writes.

Does LA really want an NFL team?

The owner of the St. Louis Rams owner has a plan to move his team to Southern California, where he’d build a $1.8 billion stadium at the old Hollywood Park race track in Inglewood. Meanwhile, Carson wants to build a stadium for a venue that would be home to the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders.

The Intolerant Jackass Act takes flight

Two competing ballot measures are testing the limits of free speech – and California’s ballot system. First, a lawyer paid the $200 to file a ballot measure called the Sodomite Suppression Act, which would require that gays “be put to death by bullets to the head or by any other convenient method.” In response, Charlotte Laws is filing the Intolerant Jackass Act, which would require people like the above-mentioned to do intensive sensitivity training.
