Gustavo_Arellano-300x275It’s been 25 years since the creation of Little Saigon in Orange County, with an official proclamation coming from then-Governor George Deukmejian at Asian Garden Mall. It’s the largest Vietnamese enclave in the world outside Vietnam. The district’s borders spill over into Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and Westminster.

At first it was criticized as discouraging assimilation. But since then, Little Saigon has largely been embraced by Orange County residents. But how is the future looking for Little Saigon, 25 years after its establishment?
