New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is trying to influence public education here in Los Angeles. He’s donated a million dollars to the Coalition for School Reform, led by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, which is trying to maintain a reformist majority on the elected school board.
Caitlin Shamberg is the Which Way LA blog editor, and also, a producer for KCRW's "To the Point" and "Which Way, L.A.?" Before joining KCRW - her hometown radio station - she lived in Brooklyn and braved eight years of brutal New York winter. She's psyched to be back in LA, where she lives with her husband and toddler, and without her ankle length down coat.
