Ah yes, the very inspiration for this blog. I started worrying about the west side commuter the very first moment that I heard about the “Sepulveda Pass Project”.
All I thought about was how will they get through this massive 3-year construction for the 405? I knew about the typical alternates, Sepulveda Blvd…forget about that one, it too will be bummer to bummer. There’s Beverly Glen, a scenic but already a slow drive. I mostly take PCH, but one accident in either direction and both sides are at a standstill for miles. So I am coming to you. Do you know another way?
As I started to give this some serious thought, it occurred to me, how cool it would be to have a place to share all kinds of information regarding transportation!
Automobiles, buses, bicycles (did I ever mention my daughter when she was just a sprout called a bicycle a ” Dahp be dahp ” accent on the first syllable), car pool, trains, etc…. my mind went crazy with all the possibilities.
So here we are. I want this blog to be a valuable and entertaining resource for all of us when it comes to transportation. It can only be that with your help by sharing tips, links and making comments. Let’s do this. I’m excited.
Here’s a tip for the 405 from Alyssa Dori, a KCRW listener:
Sometimes Sepulveda straight through is the best bet but there’s always Hayvenhurst and Beverly Glen.
Thanks Alyssa! Can you help? I think so.
