Airport Security! No privacy, and who can touch, who can see, apparently everybody!
I had to do some traveling by airplane recently. I’m not going to talk about what we all have been through…having to throw out your bottle of water, or your Avon Vanilla spray perfume, your shoes, belts, coats, blah blah blah.
I’m not going to discuss that no matter what I wear and take care to not wear. No metal, no jewelry, nothing- I always buzz! I hate going through the scary arch with the big TSA security person standing there, hands on hips, waiting for me. I always get pulled aside to be wanded…is that even a word? I get pulled aside and put into a plexiglass box, waiting for the wander…is that even a word? I guess that’s what you get with a name like Kajon Cermak! You get “randomly selected”. At least a hundred people are walking by staring. Ladies pulling on their husbands shirts, pointing with concerned faces, not concern for me. No, concerned that I’m dangerous.
I’m not going to write, that while I’m waiting in that plexiglass box to be wanded, I see my purse wide open, slowly moving down the conveyor belt, finally coming to a stop at the end while people, lots and lots of people are walking by. Looking down as they collect their personal belongings, I’m watching in my clear cage. All those people going by looking into my purse. Of course my wallet is on top because I had just put my drivers license away. They, the strangers, are looking in it. Some of them look from side to side- checking to see if anyone else is watching them looking into my purse. By now, I am in the clear box jumping up and down screaming, “MY PURSE! MY PURSE! CAN SOME ONE GIVE ME MYYYPUUUURSSSEEEE!!!”. I now hear voices coming from the hips of the TSA security guards squawking from the walky-talkies on their belts. “What’s going on with the crazy lady jumping up and down!”. Crackle crackle,”We got a 113, over”, ” I’m on my way!”. The next thing I know? There are several security people running towards me…no, I’m not going to talk about that. After all…
It could have been worse…
