I love the people that listen to KCRW! Creative, talented and obviously very smart…. ;-)

Meet Frank.*

If you don’t live in Los Angeles AND listen to KCRW, this song will likely mean nothing to you. But their traffic reporter has an unusual name that is just plain fun to say: Kajon Cermak (KAY-zhawn SER-mack). She comes on every day as I’m heading for the freeway with the traffic report that’s oh so critical to my quality of life, at least as far as commuting goes. Or if I’m riding my bike, then I get to hear her report and laugh at those poor drivers who have to deal with the traffic. Anyway, one day just as the KCRW air staff was introducing her, I said “Talk to me, Kajon,” and for some reason that sounded like a song. By the time I got home, i had the chorus, and after a couple of hours of thinking about it, the three verses practically wrote themselves.

Take a listen.
