Traffic jam- Obama jam
President Obama is coming to Los Angeles this Sunday today, October 7 for a fundraising concert.
Downtown Los Angeles is the place for “The 30 Days to Victory” fundraising concert. The Nokia Theater is the venue where Stevie Wonder will join Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson, Jon Bon Jovi and Earth Wind and Fire to perform.
A $25,000-per-person dinner, co-hosted by Jefferey Katzenberg, will be held after the concert at Wolfgang Puck’s WP24.
Monday’s morning rush hour (s) on the West Side could be tough, though a number of people have the day off due to Columbus Day.
Most banks, government offices and the US Postal service will be closed.
At 8:15am President Obama will be attending a fundraising breakfast at the Pacific Palisades home of syndication mogul Michael King and his wife Jena.
Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to attend the breakfast.
After the fundraising breakfast, the former president will stay in town for an evening event with The Clinton Foundation’s Millennium Network.

The president is scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport after 1 p.m. Sunday, and leave from LAX on Monday morning…

“The following streets may experience temporary closures, LAPD said, though closures and routes are subject to change.
From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday:
- Pico Boulevard between Overland Avenue and Beverly Drive
- Avenue of the Stars between Olympic and Sunset boulevards
- Sunset Boulevard between Beverly Glen Boulevard and Doheny Drive
From 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday:
- Sunset Boulevard between Beverly Glen Boulevard and Doheny Drive
- North Whittier Drive between Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards
From 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday:
- Avenue of the Stars between Wilshire and Pico boulevards
- Motor Avenue between Pico Boulevard and the Santa Monica (10) Freeway
- Streets around LA Live
From 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. Sunday:
- Motor Avenue between National and Pico boulevards
- Avenue of the Stars between Pico and Santa Monica boulevards
7 to 9 a.m. Monday:
- Avenue of the Stars between Pico and Santa Monica boulevards
Motorists are encouraged to plan to avoid those areas when traffic may halted for the president’s motorcade.

Do to the security issues the planned road closures are not announced in advance, that said we have a general idea of what to expect.
- Streets likely to be closed include Figueroa St, LA Live Way, 11th, Pico, Georgia, Olympic, and Flower.
- Other streets on route to the LA Live / Nokia Theater area will be under rolling closures while the motorcade arrives and leaves,
reports Total Traffic. - Also, major road closures are in place near Downtown LA for the car free event CicLAvia, taking place on Sunday too (October 7th).
