California just made it easier to prosecute drivers with red-light cameras

Not one descending vote today when the California Supreme Court decided that images and data automatically recorded by red-light cameras have a “presumption of authenticity”. Meaning that the camera evidence is considered valid unless a defendant can successfully challenge it. I thought we were getting rid of the cameras, no?

The Beverly Hills Police Department has released the locations that will likely be affected

A checkpoint I went through on Pacific Coast Highway near Cross Creek in Malibu.

Today/Tonight  expect DUI “saturation patrols”with extra patrol cars and police motorcycles

in the following places at the following times.

A tractor-trailer blew a tire, according to the CHP, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The tractor-trailer then sideswiped a box truck, which overturned. The tractor-trailer veered across lanes and crashed onto Metro Gold Line tracks, striking an energized power pole.
Both drivers were able to extricate themselves and were able to walk away from the wrecks.
