I remember when I was little, riding in the car with my parents, they listened to the music they used to hear when they were teenagers/young adults. Perry Como, Frank, Anita O’day, Ella and more. As I got older, they continued to listen to the same music while I graduated from Row Row Row Your Boat to Led Zeppelin. I remember wondering would I be listening to Led Zeppelin with my young children in the car? It seemed like a strange notion. Well I did – Zeppelin, Bowie, Hendrix, BTO, Chicago, Aerosmith and more. I guess it continues from generation to generation.
What music did your parents listen to in the car? Do you have children? Do you play music for your enjoyment in your car, or kid music?
Thanks Steve T. Steve is an online listener at kcrw.com. He actually likes to listen to traffic reports even though he resides in Indianapolis.
