LAPD on alert for drunk drivers this Halloween weekend

The patrols and checkpoints will begin tonight and continue through Sunday evening. Police said Halloween is among the deadliest times of the year for impaired drivers.

LA County

Tonight, a checkpoint will be conducted in
Sherman Oaks
at Ventura Boulevard and Columbus Avenue from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Then on Saturday, between the same times, one will be held in
Hollywood
at Hollywood Boulevard and Gower Street.

On Sunday, officers will do a saturation patrol of the
Harbor Area, which includes San Pedro and Wilmington, between 2 and 10 p.m.

Redondo Beach

Two sobriety stops, patrols set for area

Redondo Beach. Police will conduct roving patrols throughout the weekend in addition to a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint from 8 tonight to 3 a.m. Saturday at an undisclosed location.

Manhattan Beach. Police will conduct a DUI and unlicensed driver checkpoint from 9 tonight to 3 a.m. Saturday in the eastbound lanes of Rosecrans Avenue at Redondo Avenue.

Police say people who see possible drunk drivers should call 911.

San Bernardino county

Law enforcement agencies around San Bernardino County plan to conduct 36 patrol operations focusing on drunken drivers Halloween weekend.
The roving patrols will be today, Saturday and Sunday, San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials said.
Checkpoint 8pm tonight until 2 am
Newport Blvd and Flower Street
