The Glow Art Festival Santa Monica – Big Blue Bus Detours and Street Closures
The Glow art festival will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. in Santa Monica. To accommodate the event, which includes stretches along Santa Monica Beach, the Santa Monica Pier and Palisades Park, all Big Blue Bus routes will be detoured around downtown Santa Monica starting at 6 p.m. on September 25.
This detour will offer service to within 11 blocks of the event, and will keep buses running according to regular schedules, ensuring that passengers can take public transit anywhere in the Big Blue Bus system and not be impacted by the event. All service will be detoured at 11th Street in Santa Monica, and all stops west of 11th Street will be closed that evening.
Detailed information regarding exact closures, temporary stops and how the lines will be detoured can be found at www.BigBlueBus.com.
In addition to Big Blue Bus detours, street closures will be in effect during the event in order to accommodate the anticipated volume of residents and visitors to the Glow Zone. Beginning at 5 p.m. and effective 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., the following will be closed:
