A total of 1,535 drivers were screened at a checkpoint in Malibu Thursday night and I was one of them.
I handed my license to the deputy as he leaned over poking his head into my window asking, “Good evening mam. Have you been drinking tonight?” I’ve got to say it felt really good when I replied, “Not a drop sir.”  Handing me my license back he replied, “Now that is a good answer.”

One person was arrested on suspicion of illegal narcotics possession and another on
suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Two others were jailed for
outstanding traffic warrants, four for driving on a suspended or revoked
license and 14 for driving without a license, reported City New Service.
