A “shift in the wind is our worst nightmare if that happens it makes for a perfect storm”, says Ventura County Fire Dept.

It’s has shifted. We are back in the line of fire as of the last 30 minutes. The area is getting heavy with smoke and ash. I’m in my house, windows closed, and my eyes are tearing from the smoke.
In some areas in the Santa Monica mountains, flames are shooting up as high as 150 feet,
over 10,000 acres burned and 4,000 homes threatened. This fire is the same size as the city of Burbank or Santa Monica. The winds are shifting to onshore. We are directly northeast of the fire, and now the wind is coming in from the southwest. Mandatory evacuation is starting in the area again. Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village are on alert.
I live off of Lynn Road, one side of the street is Thousand Oaks and the other side is Newbury Park.

About a mile from my house.

About a mile NE from my house.
