As February comes to a close, I assess my first several weeks of 2012.
Have I kept my New Year’s resolutions?
Am I on track for making this my “best year ever”?
Like so many things the answer is both yes and no. Not like when I was in my teens and 20s, the older I get the more I come to understand life isn’t black and white. Life is gray. Sometimes it is so gray, it is as hard to see through as a London fog.

First let’s talk road closures, sidewalk closures, then we’ll get in to all the Metro Service issues. I will update as more information becomes available…
On a side note, the show will refer to the venue –
formerly known as the Kodak Theater — as the Hollywood & Highland Center.

Close Hawthorn Alley on the east side of the El Capitan Theatre from Hollywood Boulevard south 210 feet to “T” of east/west alley from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

President Obama is visiting Los Angeles today and tomorrow morning

Update 11:51am
Getting reports of a ground hold at LAX about 20 mins ago.  President was scheduled to depart at 11:45am.
Update 10:45am
Obama is on the move – traffic heavy now on Coast Hwy between Macarthur and Newport Coast Dr in both directions.
Update 10:34am
Obama should be wrapping up his speech in Corona del Mar and heading out.  He’s scheduled to depart LAX headed for San Francisco at 11:45am.
Currently there is just moderate traffic on E Coast Hwy near Morning Canyon.

Tonight’s (Friday) closure cancelled! 2/17/12
Beginning tonight, Monday, February 13, and each day thereafter through Friday, February 17, there will be several closures of the eastbound I-210 Freeway lanes for construction of the I-210 bridge.
 

Closures of eastbound on-ramps at Rosemead Blvd., Michillinda Blvd. and Baldwin Ave. at 9:00 p.m.
Closures of up to three lanes starting at 10:00 p.m.
FULL closure of eastbound lanes from 12:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m. when all lanes will re-open.
The Saturday morning closure will commence at 2:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m.
