Plus, look out Aretha, here comes Elayna Boynton!

Monday, Sept 26
Elayna Boynton: Honey I Told You from Elayna Boynton

You may have noticed Elayna Boynton’s powerful voice as part of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained when she sang her song “Freedom” alongside R&B great Anthony Hamilton, or heard her smoldering version of Aretha Franklin’s “One Room Paradise” in an IKEA commercial. The woman who was raised in Riverside on a steady diet of gospel and trips to see family in Memphis, Boynton strikes again as she belts out “Honey I Told You.”

Tuesday, Sept 27
R.E.M.: Radio Song from Out of Time (25th anniversary edition)

It’s been 25 years since R.E.M. issued Out Of Time, an album that catapulted them to international acclaim and ushered alternative music into the mainstream. Later this fall, the band will release a remastered album, which includes b- sides and demo versions, providing fans with insight into their creative process. A song we hold dear is an acoustic demo of “Radio.”

Wednesday, Sept 28
Angel Olsen: Shut Up Kiss Me from My Woman

Angel Olsen just released her fourth album, packed up her new six-piece band and got out on the road! Gritty and raw, Olsen’s music strikes an emotive punch as you’ll hear on “Shut Up Kiss Me.”

Thursday, Sept 29
Nick Cave: Jesus Alone from Skeleton Tree

Nick Cave is a master at creating menacing yet seductive songs. Author, musician, songwriter, actor and screenwriter, this Renaissance man lures us into his 16th album with “Jesus Alone.”

Friday, Sept 30
Middle Kids: Edge of Town (single)

Sydney has a new band that we are excited about. Right now, Middle Kids has released just a few singles but is preparing to release an EP in October. As Tim Fitz says of lead vocalist Hannah Joy, she sings not to you or for you but with you, and that’s what we feel on the “Edge of Town.”
