Allah-Las offer up new jam, Could Be You

It’s been a bit since we’ve heard from LA band Allah-Las but the sturdy garage-psych vibers are back at it with their forthcoming album, Calico Review.

According to a press release – the album was recorded in Los Angeles’ historic Valentine Recording Studio, which had lain dormant since 1979. The studio’s reopening in July 2015 allowed the band to use historic recording equipment including a 1964 Universal Audio 610 soundboard, the same board on which The Beach Boys recorded Pet Sounds.

With the single Could Be You, we get a taste of the mystique and influence the studio surely provided.

Pedrum Siadatian, Miles Michaud, Matthew Correia and Spencer Dunham offer up rollicking guitar work, a steady back beat and enough subtle harmonies to recall dusty West Coast jams of the past.

Hop a ride with Allah-Las and cruise LA city blocks in the video below.

Calico Review is out September 9 on Mexican Summer and you can see Allah-Las live @ the Regent Theater, October 8th, presented by KCRW.
