Welcome to your weekly Morning Becomes Eclectic update, for news and performances over Nov. 9-13, 2015 on KCRW and KCRW.com.

THURSDAY, NOV. 12: Portland-based band Blitzen Trapper have explored folk, country, psychedelia, and more in previous releases. All Across This Land is the eighth studio album in the quintet’s 15-year career and it shows them leaning towards a sunnier rock sound.

Spoiler Alert: They promised to play their cover of Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold” for us.

Fun Fact: The band did a Reddit AMA recently and someone asked the band to describe a superhero who takes on one trait from each member of the band. Their answer: “Any hero created from the five of us would be a highly literate, bike-riding, backwoods type of fantasy football guru in flannel, no doubt.”

FRIDAY, NOV. 13: Mr. Pauer (Toto González) is a Latin Grammy-nominated producer and re-mixer born in the Caribbean city of Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela. He’s been based in Miami for more than 21 years and brings his unique “Electrópico” sounds to our studio to get the weekend started.

Fun Facts:

  • His new album features a cartoon version of the artist on the cover.
