Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson Contemplates the Universe Through Music

First off, it must be said that Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson has the best laugh.

Even if you only listen to his Guest DJ Project set to hear his chuckle as he reveals his longheld desire to be abducted by aliens (!!), you won’t be disappointed.

His admission comes through his choice of Styx’s “Come Sail Away”.

I never realized the prog rock hit was about an alien abduction until Tyson pointed it out and, considering he spends his days explaining the cosmos and various marvels of our universe, it seemed entirely fitting.

This was his first time anyone has asked him to guest deejey and he reveled in the opportunity to share a gospel track from Aretha Franklin, a Van Morrison love song and more.

His new late night talk show on the National Geographic Channel, “Star Talk”, launches on April 20 and you can find his full show streaming below.

Koko Taylor – “I’m A Woman”
Aretha Franklin – “Old Landmark”
