UK Artists To Look Out For in 2015

SIVU

Over the years, KCRW has stood behind many UK artists and watched them excel beyond normal expectations to achieve worldwide acclaim.

Sam Smith, Alt-J and Clean Bandit are some recent examples of well-known musicians who we have supported since their early days.

Here are a few more artists from the UK that we are watching closely and from whom we expect great things.

Rhodes

This young man knows how to make melancholy feel beautiful. Rhodes’ new EP, “Home”, expands on his masterful ability to set a mood of ethereal tenderness.

Sivu

Sivu’s new single “Can’t Stop Now”, captures a sense of nostalgia with crunchy, wet electric guitar lines that remind us of a laid-back Strokes song. He’s on tour in Europe and made iTunes “Single of The Week” in late October.

This is one of my favorite albums of the year.

Joel Baker

Joel Baker’s unique voice cuts through the noise alongside simple, thoughtful guitar work and minimal production.

His songs are romantic, inviting and easy to get caught up in.

We loved “You’re Not Alone” in 2013 and are even more enthusiastic about his newest single, “Every Vessel Every Vein”. He has been on tour with Ella Eyre.

Adam French

Recently featured on BBC Radio 1, Adam French turned heads with his new EP, “More To Life”.

He sings with sincerity like he’s reaching out for something.

His bright, gravelly voice adds depth to very catchy pop-rock melodies that are carefully produced with both organic and electronic sounds.

Sam Sure

Sam Sure’s latest release, “Hunger”, opens with the magnetic pulse of a muddy synth. His vocals hang over moody samples and set a fresh, sexy tone. His smooth style draws upon elements of indie electronica, R&B and smart, slow rap.
