Shelf Life: P.P. Roy, The Primitives, Imelda May

P.P. Roy – Watch the Dough Nut Not the Hole (Upitup Records)

Breakbeat artist P.P. Roy returns after 14 years with a new record of wacky beats and snappy samples.

And his label is offering it up all for free, which certainly make it easy to add to our station’s music library & yours as well!

The Primitives – Spin-O-Rama (Elefant)

This UK garage-rock pop group, led by distinctive vocalist Tracy Tracy, were a cult favorite in the late 80s & early 90s (Morrissey was photographed wearing their t-shirt) before they broke up in 1992.

They offer up their first album of all new material since their 2009 reunion, and clearly they haven’t lost a step!

Imelda May – Tribal (Verve/Decca)

Irish rockabilly vixen Imelda May took a break to become a new mother, but has come back strong with her fourth batch of uptempo rockers.

The video for “It’s Good to Be Alive“, the first single from the album, should serve as a nice coda to your Halloween weekend.
