Just in time for your Coachella roadtrip mixtape and the rest of your summer, tropicool UK synthpop dance dudes Friendly Fires, have followed up their soph0more album “Pala” (and chill Late Night Tales mixtape) with a brand new single called “Before Your Eyes“.
The inaugural release on their own Telophase label is a collaborative affair between Friendly Fires and The Asphodells (aka UK dance mage Andrew Weatherall and the very excellent Timothy J Fairplay), “Before Your Eyes” is a dreamy slice of shoegazey, dancefloor dynamite.
At a slow chuggy pace the track revisits the swept away romantic feels of their hit single “Paris” but imbues it with a warm Screamadelic wonder of Primal Scream and My Bloody Valentine at their absolute softest.
Crisp rhythms meet shimmery guitar licks and layers of swirling pink and orange atmospherics, resulting in a track sweeter than melting sherbet and 4 times as cool.
Summer is here, and it’s “Before Your Eyes“ in your ears.
