Jake Bugg — “Song About Love” (Online Premiere)

Written by

Jake Bugg is back and his sophomore album “Shangri La” is scheduled for release on November 19, just about 9 months after the official release of his self-titled debut.

We’re seeing a softer side of the British singer with the ballad “A Song About Love”, which we’re pleased to premiere online.

The singer worked with super producer Rick Rubin on the new songs, which meant he spent a lot of time here in LA (Malibu, to be specific). I’m always curious to hear how LA will influence an artist, especially a 19-year-old (!) who came roaring out of the gate the way Jake did.

Over the last few months, he’s been nominated for a Mercury Prize (the UK’s album of the year award), played the Main Pyramid stage at Glastonbury, and one of his best songs was licensed for a Gatorade commercial (“Lightning Bolt”).

He shows no signs of slowing down —  a fully formed artist with great creative range despite his young age.

He’ll be in LA on January 24 for a show at the Wiltern so mark your calendars!
