This Saturday, KCRW’s Music Director Jason Bentley brought together two of the most innovative electronic music artists working today – UK producer Bonobo and mash-up pioneer Z-Trip — for an evening of dance music with accompaniment from members of the Pacific Symphony.

It was a one-off event as part of the Wavelength Festival in Costa Mesa, but luckily he recorded his opening set so we can all hear it. This is a culture clash that clearly works.

Beats and strings! And so much more. Take a listen.

Editor’s Note: I’m trying to get my hands on the other sets too…

That was hands down one of the best performances by everyone of the year. Incredible.
