After hearing it a number of weeks ago on Running Back label boss Gerd Janson’s mix for Tim Sweeney’s dance music institution Beats in Space, I’ve literally been jonesing for my own copy of Osborne’s brand new track, “Hold Up“.

Featuring dance music workhorse Joe Goddard (who’s in Hot Chip, The 2 Bears, releases stuff under his own name AND co-owns the Greco-Roman label) “Hold Up is a totally sumptuous chugger that throbs in perfect time like an early 80s Freestyle track with a bunch of funky Prince-ish synth flourishes.

The track has wildfire written all over it having already racked up over 16,000 plays in 4 days.

From a full length forthcoming on Ghostly International’s Spectral Sound imprint later this year, “Hold Up” is Osborne’s first work since 2009s Hovercrafting EP and it’s worth the wait.
