AM & Shawn Lee describe their music as “sun-filled, space funk”.

It is the perfect soundtrack to summertime so what better place to take a dive into their disco-soul than the Hammer Museum courtyard, where they will perform live as part of the “Music for Better Living” series this Thursday night as part of KCRW’s Summer Nights.

It’s free, all ages, and KCRW DJs Jason Bentley and Dan Wilcox will take turns on the decks as well!

In advance of the show, the band is offering up some free tunes on Bandcamp, including a rendition of Joe Jackson’s 1982 hit “Steppin’ Out“. They always choose great covers and seem to have so much fun taking them on (revisit “Jackie Blue” from their 2011 debut).

Their second full length “La Musique Numerique” is out now and they’ll be at The Echo on Friday, June 28.
