UK Discopop sprite Little Boots is back with a fine new record,” Nocturne“. Co-produced/written with a grip of bona-fide producers including Jeppe (Junior Senior,) Andy Butler (Hercules & Love Affair,) James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco,) and Tim Goldsworthy (DFAs originator/Thee Loving Hand) the album is a glittery, pouty nighttime soundtrack.
“Nocturne“ is out now, and first single “Broken Record” is a like an Abba single hopped up on a grip of stimulants and werking her most scandalous party dress. I imagine the protagonist of Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own” still dancing by herself watching this girl from a distance steady tearing up the scenery.
The single has a number of awesome remixes by notable KCRW favorites Cosmic Kids, Hackman & Ossie. Additionally, there’s an unofficial monster JDH & Chupacabras remix worth tracking down if you can find it. All around serious heat that if you get it on vinyl will assuredly become a Broken Record from repeated plays.
