For over a decade Danish producer Tomas Barfod has been releasing dance music on Kompakt, Gomma, Kitsune and Turbo under his own name and as a member of Whomadewho and Jatoma. He’s remixed everyone from Bloc Party to Chromeo and Gorillaz.

Most recently, he’s released an ethereal full length album and couple of EPs on LA based Friends of Friends.

His most recent work is definitively informed by his temporary relocation in Los Angeles, which found him finding inspiration in trips to the Salton Sea and the dystopic promise of Blade Runner’s vision of Los Angeles. The second, most recent EP is based on his gorgeous single “November Skies” which got reworked by local artists Nite Jewel and Jerome LOL.

It’s become a KCRW favorite and is one of 2012 loveliest releases and finds Barfod primed to release new work by Whomadewho and a follow-up to Salton Sea in the not so distant future. All good things.
