KCRW’s Special Music Programming for the Holidays

The holidays are almost here! To celebrate, we have a bunch of special programming, including an annual Christmas show special from DJ Tom Schnabel, a New Years Eve blow out, as well as a countdown of the station’s most played albums, favorite Morning Becomes Eclectic performances, and some top picks to look forward to in 2013.

Christmas Week and New Years Eve:

Monday, December 24 (Christmas Eve):
9am-noon — Morning Becomes Eclectic hosted by Jason Bentley
8pm-midnight – KCRW’s 24-hour music channel Eclectic24 will stream live on 89.9FM.

Eclectic24, programmed by KCRW DJ Chris Douridas, blends the collected talents and tastes of all the station’s DJs into a non-stop stream of music.

(All midnight music shows run as scheduled throughout the holiday)

Tuesday, December 25 (Christmas Day):
9am to noon – DJ and former music director Tom Schnabel hosts his annual Christmas show. Music from the past and present, the sacred and the secular, and around the globe.
8pm-midnight – Eclectic24

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, December 26, 27 and 28
Jason Bentley returns to host Morning Becomes Eclectic
All other music shows run as scheduled.

Saturday, December 29
2pm-5pm – Most Played Albums of 2012 Countdown hosted by DJ and Music Librarian Eric J Lawrence, plus a look forward to 2013.

Monday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve)
10pm-3am – KCRW’s New Year’s Eve bash – “Midnight Madness” — hosted by Raul Campos and featuring mixes from many KCRW DJs.

Tuesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day)
9am – noon: Hear Jason Bentley’s favorite live performances of 2012 and more.
8pm-midnight – Eclectic24
