From KCRW DJ Mathieu Schreyer:

Last Friday, I had the honor to host Pat Thomas on my show as he came in for a quick chat and DJ mix. His book, “Listen, Whitey! The Sounds of Black Power 1965-1975 provides amazing insight in the effect of the Black Panther movement on music from the late ‘60s to the mid-70’s.

It took him five years to track down all of the records he talks about in his book. He also made a very nice compilation of his finds, which is available on Light in the Attic records.

This book is a great read and the topic is ever relevant. Indulge in more knowledge right here by listening to this Guest DJ set in the KCRW archives.

Thanks for tuning in, as always it is a pleasure to share it all with you.
