Brett Ratner is perhaps best known as the director behind the “Rush Hour” series and we found out during his Guest DJ Project set that his early inspiration for the film came from the theme to the 1973 film “Enter the Dragon”, which had Bruce Lee’s screams over urban grooves.

He told us he uses music to inspire actors on his set, including his latest film “Tower Heist” starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy.

“It’s a kind of quintessential ‘New York heist’ movie, very ‘70s. So I was playing stuff from like, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three“; the original score from that movie.”

He also tells us how he charms a lady (with a little help from Lionel Richie) and deems the Rolling Stones “one of the greatest bands that ever lived”.

Was kinda feelin' Ratner's unidirectioonal choices (mackin' on the ladies) as guest DJ, but admiration is definitely tempered with his junior high homophobia:…. I wasn't looking forward to Eddie Murphy hosting the Oscars anyway.
