One of my top albums of the year is from Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd.
Based out of Toronto, this fellow Aries leaked his album “House of Balloons” which was met with lots of love on the blogs and is easily in my top three albums of 2011.
“Dark, soulful with 808’s, sprinkles of Beach House and Sioxsie and The Banshees samples” is how I could best sum up the aesthetic of his music. The lyrical content explores sex, drugs and smooth R&B and every word is pushed with his heart and soul.
