New Zealand’s The Naked and Famous made a big splash on their first visit to Los Angeles last November, which included a performance on Morning Becomes Eclectic – their U.S. live radio debut!

We booked the band for KCRW’s official SXSW showcase (on Wed, March 16) before we ever even saw them live.

We were so sure of their star potential, based heavily on the audience response to their single “Young Blood”, that we knew they would be a band to watch at this year’s conference. And sure enough, they are!

Recently I heard a remix of “Young Blood” from TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek and fell in love all over again. That song cannot be stopped. It is truly a hit.

LA fans will also get another chance to see them as the band just added a second Echoplex date on Saturday, April 9 after quickly selling out Friday night. And if you want to get a little deeper into their album “Passive Me, Aggressive You,” check out the video for another stellar song, “Punching in a Dream“. (also one of my favorite song titles in recent memory)

If you miss The Naked and Famous on Wednesday night during SXSW, catch them on Saturday at Filter Magazine’s Culture Collide day party at Cedar Street, also presented by KCRW!
