Review: Ferraby Lionheart, Chasing Kings, Voxhaul Broadcast at Hammer Museum

AILTR posterThe last night of the Hammer Museum’s “Also I Like to Rock” music series was a blast, with a series of extra special last minute surprises.

Ferraby Lionheart jumped on stage as the sun was setting for a short acoustic set of songs, including my current favorite “Harry and Bess.” For those who didn’t get enough of Ferraby, he’ll be playing a set tonight at Bardot in Hollywood, alongside Gram Rabbit and Villagers, who are a big buzz band right now with their recent Mercury Music Prize nomination. The show is free if you RSVP on the “It’s a School Night” site.

Chasing Kings blew the crowd away with a set of rollicking, upbeat piano- and guitar-driven pop. They also had artist Norton Wisdom on stage doing live art behind them – very fitting for a rock show in a museum courtyard!

Voxhaul Broadcast closed the night, fresh off their debut appearance on Morning Becomes Eclectic, which is available in the archives here:
