The band Junip is Jose Gonzalez and two friends from Stockholm (Elias Araya and Tobias Winterkor) who started the band way back in 1999.  The singer’s last solo album “In Our Nature” was a big hit at the station and he has lent his vocals talents to downtempo duo Zero 7 in the past, but he is quick to note this is not a side project.

I’m hearing incredible things about Junip’s live show and we recorded a session with the band that will run on Morning Becomes Eclectic Monday, September 13, the day before their album “FIELDS” is released.

Here is a preview, the song “Always,” which KCRW premiered on air today!

You can also download an EP of new songs by signing up for the mailing list on their website.

Enjoy!
