Wondering what musical goodies await you this week on Today’s Top Tune? Let’s find out. We’re sharing a new song from BADBADNOTGOOD, featuring Little Dragon. Next, we check on a track Young Fathers, who happen to be at the Fonda on November 9. Legendary songwriter Joe Jackson has returned with new work. We’re digging LA-based Laura Jean Anderson.  And, The Dirty Projectors have a three-night stint at Zebulon starting on November 7, download a live track from them.

Monday, Oct. 29 BADBADNOTGOOD “Tried” featuring Little Dragon

It’s been a busy year for BADBADNOTGOOD, with a worldwide tour and producing tracks for Kendrick Lamar (among other artists).  “Tried” is a new song featuring the sounds of one of our favorite Swedish outfits, Little Dragon.

Tuesday, Oct. 30 Joe Jackson “Fabulously Absolute”

40 years into his career, legendary songwriter Joe Jackson returns with his 20th studio album in early 2019. After the band’s last tour, Jackson gathered them in a recording studio and came up with eight new original songs based on comedy and tragedy just like “Fabulously Absolute.”

Wednesday, Oct. 31 Young Fathers “Toy”

“Toy” is an energetic track you’ll find on Young Fathers new album. Yes, it’s unique and exhilarating but it’s also subversive upon a closer listen. Sonically leaner and more muscular than past material, “Toy,” takes a poke at the worldwide political climate we’re living in.

Thursday, Nov. 1 Laura Jean Anderson  “Thinkin Bout You”

Based in Los Angeles, Laura Jean Anderson simply strums an electric guitar beside unfiltered vocals on “Thinkin Bout You.” The results are pristine.

Friday, Nov. 2 Dirty Projectors “That’s a Lifestyle” Live On MBE

The Dirty Projectors have been an enormously influential band since their inception in 2002. They recorded “That’s A Lifestyle” on their last visit to Morning Becomes Eclectic and we are pleased to share it with you.
