World Festival Preview: Flying Lotus, Little Dragon, BadBadNotGood

Ever since its inception with Tom Schnabel at the helm, KCRW’s World Festival has been an unparalleled celebration of summer in Los Angeles. To host the 2018 kickoff show (June 17) is an absolute pleasure, especially with a lineup of personal favorites taking the legendary stage.

Opening the show this Sunday is LA’s own queen of underground future funk – singer and producer Georgia Anne Muldrow, followed by Toronto’s renegade soul-jazz outfit BadBadNotGood. Next up, the slinky left field synth-pop of Gothenburg’s Little Dragon and a body rocking, soul shocking, bass-heavy audiovisual odyssey by electro jazz maestro Flying Lotus (accompanied by the mothership and alien pods from Zeta 2 Reticuli, so it’s rumored). Stacked, right?

This show is recommended for all you cool Dad’s out there looking to put some swing in your Father’s Day and music lovers alike.

Hope to see you there – I’ll be DJ’ing live from the Bowl beginning @ 3pm, grab your tickets!
