Pan Caliente: Toy Selectah Remix of LADAMA

Written by

Toy Selectah aka the master producer/remixer is back at it!

The former producer of seminal Mexican Hip-Hop outfit Control Machete, and now a main component of the Camilo Lara (Mexican Institute of Sound) cacophony project COMPASS, has spent a decade perfecting his “raverton” on remixes for Vampire Weekend, Feist, El columpio asesino, and various cumbia remixes.

Today we premiere his latest remix for the worldly art sounds of LADAMA!

LADAMA formed as a result of the prestigious OneBeat Program and have been making music since 2014, which reimagines South American and Caribbean styles (like cumbia, maracatu, onda nueva and joropo) and blending them with soul, R&B, and pop.

“Toy Selectah took our song to another dimension by mixing our countries’ Afro-Brazilian and Colombian rhythms, porro and maracatu with house music! It is a Pan-American collaboration gone one step deeper, to vibrant, underground dance floors.”
