EP Premiere: Cautious Clay “RESONANCE”

Today, multi-instrumentalist Cautious Clay (Josh Karpeh) is releasing his new EP RESONANCE and we are premiering the stream right here on KCRW.

Originally from Ohio, Cautious now lives in Brooklyn, where he has been focused on his new work. He was recently featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered and you may have also heard him on our own Morning Becomes Eclectic.

Already gaining acclaim for his very successful Blood Type EP (released earlier this year), RESONANCE is the follow up featuring songs that are about his own introspections. Here’s what Cautious said about the new tracks:

“RESONANCE from a production stand point is a lot more minimal; lyrically I’m focused on the context of fame and motives of the people who you surround yourself with.”

Each track tells its own story, including one of my favorites, the very bright “Call Me.”
