Rarely does a band release a first single as good as Middle Kids’ “Edge of Town”. It was an instant favorite on KCRW.
Then they released two subsequent singles that were equally as good!
We knew then this Aussie trio were destined for big things.
They visited KCRW on the release day of their debut self-titled EP and couldn’t have been sweeter.
A team in music, life and love, Hannah Joy and Tim Fitz met a few years ago through friends and crafted much of their debut in their home studio.
With just six songs out in the world, we hosted the US radio premiere of three brand new songs, “Bought It”, “Baby Let it Flow” and, my personal favorite, “Slowly“. You can hear them by skipping ahead in their set to 26:26.
Hannah, a classically trained piano player, closed the session by playing the ballad “Doing It Right“.
A solid session from start to finish and we can’t wait to see them Saturday night at The Echo and in Austin next month as part of our SXSW showcase.
