Song Premiere: Harriet – “Bring Me When You Go”

Written by

Local LA indie-rock quartet Harriet make their album debut at the end of this month with American Appetite. But they are hardly rookies, having made a name for themselves over the past five years with a pair of EPs and innumerable live shows. Still, their first full-length seems quite ambitious & potentially thorny, taking inspiration from the Enron scandal and the current state of greed in the landscape of American culture.  Nonetheless, there is quaint, sweet, nostalgic side of the band as well (consider that the band takes its name from frontman Alex Casnoff’s grandma).  “Bring Me When You Go,” the latest taste we have from the album, leans towards this aspect of the band, sounding nothing if not like a classic ’80s New Wave single (a la Talk Talk or Naked Eyes) that expresses the delicious anxieties about being in love.  Or heck, maybe it’s about Enron too.  You be the judge – just don’t miss checking out one of our most dynamic local band’s debut!

Harriet celebrate their record release with a show at the Troubadour on Friday, January 29.  Fellow KCRW favorite Korey Dane opens the show.  Stay tuned to Morning Becomes Eclectic next week for a ticket giveaway to this show!!!
