Song You Need to Hear Right Now: Miami Horror – “Love Like Mine”

Written by

I’ve been a fan of Miami Horror since their 2010 debut “Illuminations”.

As a Miami native, I was immediately intrigued and the album became my exercise soundtrack for over a year (that’s a compliment, it keeps me going!).

Now, they’re back with the first single from their forthcoming full length “All Possible Futures”.

The song came seemingly out of nowhere when it popped in my inbox this week and I absolutely love it.

I can honestly say I listened to it 5 times in a row upon first hearing it.

It like it was made in 1984 and put in a time capsule for release in 2015.

Channeling disco-era Michael Jackson with a killer chorus, this band has crafted their best song yet. I’ve loved their past work but nothing touches this one.

Pure danceable pop joy.

Come to find out, the Melbourne band spent a lot of time in LA between albums.

From band founder and producer Ben Plant:

“We wanted to move to LA for inspiration and influence more than anything. It helped us to experiment and find our own sound. If you look at a lot of the alternative electronica and dance music coming out of LA it definitely has a feel – we love the weirdness and sunshine. It has been a strong influence on many of our favourite records from the 60s-80s and we wanted to allow it to influence this record.”

A lovely tribute to our fair city!

The full album will be out on April 21.
